Spotlight: Her, Block B

Block B was prepping for a comeback with "Jackpot" when the Sewol Ferry tragedy hit, and they were wise to quickly discontinue promotions of the track and put it on the back burner until the nation recovered. I'm sure it was a rough spot to be in, but some things in life take precedence over others, and after their Thailand scandal, Block B knows that better than most. Luckily, when they did finally come back, they came back in style with the delightful and upbeat "Her," a fun new step for Block B who is better known for their somewhat all-over-the-place and intense singles accompanied by MVs absolutely riddled with entertaining bad behavior. Not that "Her" doesn't have its share of irreverence in it, but it's cleanly delivered and infectious while still offering Block B room to engage in their hilarious antics. Bonus points to PO for reaching new levels of epicness in this song (and for his pink hair), and for Zico for the freshness of his tracks as always. At first I thought it could have used more of Taeil's trademark belting, but since he has his own solo number on the mini, it's excusable. This is definitely one to add to your summer playlist!
